Unlike many world events, my newsletter will offer positive news and information about creativity and exploration. Each edition will provide quick tips, reflections, and quotes, offering a nod to your inspired essence. Hopefully, you’ll discover something new, unleashing your own path to self-discovery.

So… Who am I, and why read this?

I teach, write, and play with all things art. In addition to snapping photos, I’m a mixed-media artist. I hold a certification in art therapy and believe playful creation is pivotal to mental well-being. I teach at the Art Spot in Silverthorne, Colorado and sell work at local businesses. Ten percent of my art sales are donated to Advocates for Victims of Assault, and I run free workshops for Mountain Mentors, Theater SilCo, and other community organizations.

In addition to art, I’m an award-winning author and offer writing workshops and editing services. For many years, I taught English and Creative Writing at Colorado Mountain College. My book, Soul Sunday, won seven national awards, and I now write memoir pieces and middle grade fiction. After raising three amazing kids, my husband and I can often be found hiking with our loveable pit bull, Yoshi.

Play

and creativity go hand in hand but are often underestimated and underappreciated. Take time to embrace and activate your imagination. Playful exploration contributes to personal growth, problem-solving skills, social interactions, and overall well-being. Exploration and imagination enable us to envision alternative possibilities and solutions. Creative play offers stress relief and provides an outlet for pent-up emotions. Painting, writing, or playing musical instruments can be cathartic, offering a release from stress. Self-expression allows people to share thoughts, feelings, and experiences: a process vital for personal growth and mental well-being. Encouraging play and creativity leads to self-discovery and fosters a society that values innovation and originality. Given the opportunity to explore, we can understand ourselves better. It’s time to pick up a pen and splash some paint to see where it leads! If you need ideas, browse my website, for more ideas.

Creativity comes from trust. Trust your instincts. And never hope more than you work.
